BTU (British Thermal Unit): 1 BTU = necessary energy to heat 1 pound of water
1 liter = 2.2 pounds
So, to heat up a pool which contains 50 000 liters  (100 000 pounds) by 1 deg F, we need
100 000 BTU, whichever the system used to heat the pool.

Values in red can be different in your area. You can change them accordingly and multiply by the  factor in green to get the cost per 100 000 BTU.
